Project Brief
UBC used its annual report as an opportunity to communicate new brand messaging: specifically, that UBC is “a place of mind.” The design reflects the open-minded thinking that the university encourages, starting with the sealed cover that the reader must rip open to read. Once inside, messages bleed beyond the edges of the pages onto the open covers to reinforce that rules can be broken in the pursuit of new ideas. Inside, we photographed and profiled individual students and professors, then placed them together to show how individual ideas, people and work create a larger, dynamic UBC community.
